IMPORTANT NEWS !

I am very pleased to announce that North Dorset Karate club is now a member of the newly formed association known as Southern England Karate Federation (SEKF).

5th Dan Instructor Collin Rudkin a well-respected National and International Kumite champion is the founder of the Southern England Karate Federation. Collin comes from the same Karate background as myself.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and training with Collin for many many years as we originally both trained under the same instructor almost 25 years ago. He is the founder of Freestyle Combat Karate, which operates a number of large clubs throughout Dorset and Hampshire.
Collin has trained some of the top fighters in England; including his son Danny Rudkin, who is also a national and international champion.

The purpose of the new federation is to offer more opportunities to students in the South of England, which up to now have not been available. Membership to SEKF also gives us direct membership to the EKF (English Karate Federation) who are the Governing body for Karate in England and also membership to the WKF (World Karate Federation).
As a part of the SEKF there will be more chances to enter competitions, regular squad training sessions, more courses available and possibly more social events. The SEKF will also be running a three-tier squad system for Kumite and 2 squads for Kata. This will give those of you interested in competition a goal to aim for. The Kumite squads consist of a 'B' squad, an 'A' squad and an Elite squad. The idea is for you to initially work towards the 'B' squad and work your way up to the Elite squad where you will be entered into some of the top competitions nationally and even internationally.

This is an exciting change for North Dorset Karate and I would like to think that all of you would show your support for the club and the association.
